Really tragic news, but I can’t help notice how government-run infrastructure always seems to be vulnerable to these kinds of disasters. Instead of pouring endless taxpayer money into bloated state railway projects, maybe we’d see better safety and maintenance if private companies were in charge and had real accountability. The state never seems to be proactive—only reactive after something horrible happens. Maybe it’s time to rethink who we trust with critical transportation systems.
