Really tragic news, but I can’t help notice how government-run infrastructure always seems to be vulnerable to these kinds of disasters. Instead of pouring endless taxpayer money into bloated state railway projects, maybe we’d see better safety and maintenance if private companies were in charge and had real accountability. The state never seems to be proactive—only reactive after something horrible happens. Maybe it’s time to rethink who we trust with critical transportation systems.

This is heartbreaking, and it really highlights how climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and dangerous, with tragic consequences for everyday people. We need to invest in resilient infrastructure and public transportation systems that can withstand these new environmental realities. Ignoring the link between this kind of disaster and our lack of action on climate policy just puts more lives at risk.

It’s tragic that lives are being lost like this—shows we need way more investment in public infrastructure and climate resilience so everyday people aren’t put at risk by preventable disasters.

Just another example of how government-run infrastructure can't keep up with safety or maintenance—if railways were privately owned, you can bet there'd be better incentives to prevent tragedies like this.
