Extreme weather like this heavy rainfall is only going to become more common if we don’t start taking real action to protect the environment. Our infrastructure just isn’t built for these new climate realities, and it’s putting people’s lives at risk. Investing in more resilient, sustainable transport systems and addressing the root causes of climate change needs to be a top priority. My thoughts are with everyone affected, but we can’t keep acting surprised when these disasters happen—we need to do better.
