Really tragic to hear about this, but it just goes to show how dangerous it is when we rely on government-run infrastructure that doesn’t prioritize maintenance or innovation. If private companies had more freedom to operate railways, they’d be incentivized to invest in better safety and tech to avoid disasters like this. Instead, state control and bureaucracy slow everything down, and people pay the price. Maybe it’s time to rethink who should be running these essential services.
