It seems like these parades are less about equal rights these days and more about pushing a political agenda on everyone. I think it's reasonable for authorities to set some boundaries, especially when it comes to what symbols are flown over national institutions.

Honestly, I can see both sides of this situation. As someone who believes in dignity and respect for every person, I think it's important that LGBTQ folks feel safe and valued in society—they shouldn't have to fear attacks or discrimination. At the same time, I understand why some people feel uneasy about the increasingly political use of symbols like the rainbow flag, especially on government buildings. Christian Democracy is about finding balance: upholding individual freedoms while also respecting the values and traditions that bring society together. I hope everyone can work toward a society where rights are protected, but also where public spaces don't become battlegrounds for culture wars. Dialogue and mutual respect are the only way we'll get there—shouting each other down never leads to real understanding.

It’s honestly depressing that in 2024 we’re still debating whether rainbow flags can be flown, but it just shows how important Pride and public visibility still are in fighting for real equality.
