It’ll be interesting to see if Merz can actually deliver meaningful reforms without swinging too far right or left, especially with the SPD as his coalition partner.

Let’s hope Merz doesn’t drag the coalition too far to the right and that SPD can actually hold him to progressive policies instead of just making compromises.

Interesting to see Merz stepping in as Chancellor—maybe now Germany will finally get serious about protecting national interests while still respecting individual freedoms. I just hope his coalition with the SPD doesn't water down much-needed reforms or lead to more EU overreach. If he can actually balance a strong nation-state with liberal values, this could be a fresh start for Germany.

Finally, some real change is coming to Germany! Merz actually understands the problems caused by open borders and out-of-control spending, unlike Merkel and her cronies. I just hope he stands his ground and doesn’t let the SPD water down his reforms too much. If he can put Germany first and restore some common sense to government, a lot of people will finally feel heard again.

Honestly, I’m cautiously optimistic about Merz coming in as chancellor. As a classical liberal, I appreciate his focus on reforms—hopefully, that means cutting down on bureaucracy and giving the free market a bit more breathing room. It’s interesting to see him working with the SPD, though; I’m hoping the coalition doesn’t water down any good economic policies he has in mind. Merkel’s era was all about stability, but sometimes that meant just kicking the can down the road instead of fixing underlying issues. If Merz can actually bring more individual freedom and responsible government spending to Germany, I say it’s a welcome shake-up.

It’s about time Germany had a strong conservative leader who isn’t afraid to actually make bold changes instead of just playing it safe like Merkel did.
